A testable typology of entrepreneurial opportunity

Whether entrepreneurial opportunities exist in the world in some objective sense waiting to be discovered by the enterprising agent, or whether they are socially constructed has become a topic of urgent conversation in entrepreneurship research. Building on Buchanan & Vanberg’s exposition on three types of market process and Knight’s three types of uncertainty, this paper presents a testable typology of entrepreneurial opportunity that is pluralistic, without falling into naive relativism.
